Anytime I talk about spine exam, I always make an example of regular dental cleaning because the concept of spine exam is very analogous to it. Many people go to dentist on regular basis for clean and checkup. Why not for your spine? Do you think your spine is less important than your teeth? Subluxation is one of major silent killer in your body. As a matter of fact, there’s no such a spine transplant. Many people become very proactive when they know that cancers, hypertension, diabetes, and Alzheimer etc. run in their family. How about your spine? Don’t you want to care for your spine when there are so many people who suffer from all kinds of back pain?

• sEMG (surface electromyography): I can measure muscle tension of your full spine with sEMG. I can know exactly how your nervous system is controlling your spinal muscles.
• X-ray: I can see exact contour or your spine. I can also find out if there is any degenerative changes due to arthritis in your spine.
• Physical exam: it’s a paramount of spine exam. I actually check the all the restriction of your spinal joints and related muscles. Full Range of Motion (ROM) tests will be performed. I also do screening orthopedic tests to make sure major structures of your body are in good conditions.

Combining all together, I can know exactly how healthy your spine is. If it’s healthy it’s good. If not, I will recommend you treatments to make your spine healthy. Without exam how do you know if your spine is healthy or not?
